The Creative Resonance Retreat takes place at Love Creek, in nearby Santa Cruz mountains. Love Creek is nestled in redwood forests and offers over one hundred acres of naturally serene retreat space. This secluded oasis balances comfort with an easy connection to the earth. Love Creek is "green" and totally "off the grid." The ambiance and land invite you to attune to nature's rhythms and beauty. |
|
Enjoy takesfresh herbs, flowers and vegetables from the gardens, walks to the meditation yurt, a hot tub heated by a wood-fired stove, and a medicine wheel often used for indigenous ceremony. |
|
Space is limited,
so reserve yours early. |
There are a limited number of spaces for this private retreat weekend and we anticipate filling early. Love Creek is easy to find; directions are provided upon registration. Prepare to be present early Friday evening through Sunday mid-afternoon. |

Why combine storytelling & meditations with crystal singing bowls? |
Storytelling:
"To tell the holiness" is the literal meaning of the Apache word for myth or story. Stories take us deeper into ourselves and into the mysterious reservoirs of humanity. Storytelling is a type of mythmaking. By what stories shall you, I or we be known? Whatever your cultural and religious background or personal psychology, greater awareness about the stories you live by gives you greater access to choice and meaning. An absence of meaning is so often behind the private and collective suffering we experience. Myth, with its relationship to symbol, metaphor and meaning, bridges the unknown to the known, illuminating the sacred mystery of who we are and why we are here. |

Meditation with Crystal Singing Bowls:
The meditation is an opportunity to tune into the stillness, in the midst of our complex, fast-paced lives, and sense what emerges. The singing bowls facilitate a journey of relaxation, awareness and healing.
|
| The bowls are made of quartz crystal and engineered to produce highly pure alpha-wave tones. Played singley and in combination (we have eight!), their sound waves have a profound effect on body, mind, heart and spirit. They help you release tension and stress, calm your mind, and center your being. The sound vibrations are a powerful vehicle for shifting awareness, accessing creative imagination and restoring inner harmony. |
Ushered by the bowls, we enter a whole different realm of storytelling.
We gain insight not only about the stories we have been living but also the stories we are living into. In the intimate and sacred space of the storytelling circle, we play with sound, silence, tone, language, image, color ... and are joyfully amazed at what emerges with each participant's experience. Tune in as crystal vibrations energize body and soul, followed by an opportunity to share what comes naturally in an open round of storytelling.
StoryBowl gatherings are open to men and women. You are most heartily invited to join us. |

Beata C. Lewis
Executive Coach, Bridging Lives
I lead storytelling circles as journeys inward to illuminate and discover meaning, connection, and creative riches in our everyday lives. Listening for memories and dreams, we re-member ourselves. Sharing what is profoundly sacred, we claim our unique, creative voice. My heart sings in welcome. |
Sam Jackson
Touch*Tone Integrative Bodywork
With crystal bowls I experience sound, vibration, and resonance as music that is a language unto itself. Bringing these bowls to sing enriches my journey of self-discovery. With them I nurture my Sacred Self; this is an experience I gladly share.

Subscribe to my "Afterhours" list to receive updates about StoryBowls and other Afterhours events.
My Afterhours list is for events that I either host or with which I collaborate as a presenter, generally in the San Francisco Bay Area. Afterhours events are outside of the business day and productivity focus; they are intended for relaxation, balance and joyful connection. I honor your trust and goodwill by never selling, trading or otherwise sharing your email address or contact information from this list. The list is adminstered by Intellicontact (see below). The frequency of email messages varies; there might be 2 in a month and then a pause of a couple of months...i.e., not frequent.
Please note: this is a separate list from the one I use for Bridging Lives News. |
